The inaugural Indo-Lanka critical care workshop on mechanical ventilation and haemodynamic monitoring was successfully held at the University Hospital, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Colombo, Sri Lanka on 10 th and 11 th of December 2022. The academic faculty included an esteemed group of intensivists from India, Dr Rajesh Mishra (Past President, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine), Dr Rajesh Pande (Past Secretary, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine), Dr Srinivas Samavedam, Dr Y P Singh, Dr Sharmili Sinha, Dr Vijay Mishra and Dr Sumit Ray, accompanied by the local faculty Dr Dilshan Priyankara (President, 4CS), Dr EL Asfir, Dr Anushka Mudalige, Dr Waruni Samaranayake, Dr Chamin Weerasekera and Dr Rasanee Wanigasuriya. The participants comprised of postgraduate trainees in critical care, anaesthesia and medicine, along with medical officers in the same fields, from around the island. The 2-day programme was received exceptionally well and marked one of the main milestones in the academic relationship between the specialists from the two countries.
