Palliative care is an emerging multi- disciplinary field in Sri Lanka. There is an increasing demand for palliative services in this country. Therefore, we as members of the Palliative and End-of-Life Care Task Force of the SEMA realized the need to disseminate knowledge, and develop skills and attitudes in palliative care among healthcare professionals.
The Palliative and End-of-Life Care Task Force is an independent expert committee of the Sri Lanka Medical Association and our aim is to provide a practical guide to medical professionals in providing high-standard holistic care in their day-to-day practice of patients with life-threatening and life limiting illnesses.
