Competency Related Essential Skills Training (CREST) for Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is a well-recognized and perfectly structured course conducted by Ceylon College of Critical Care Specialists which is designed to enhance knowledge and skills related to continuous renal support in ICU.
There are two arms for the course which are separately designed and conducted for doctors including specialists and postgraduate trainees and for intensive care nurses.
The training course expands across one full day and is delivered by Specialists in Critical Care Medicine and a Specialist in Nephrology, all of whom are Experts in continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill patients.
This perfectly structured training program consists of a lecture series related to essential areas of the continuous renal support and series of modules targeted to the development of hands-on skills of health care professionals. Further, pre and post course tests assess and establish the improvement of competencies which is certified by the College.
Up to date, this course has been conducted across the country in numerous major hospitals including teaching hospitals in Colombo, Kandy, Karapitiya, Ragama, Kalubowila, Anuradhapura and Matara.
